The FLT chassis now features a custom designed multi-link steering system that allows the builder to use a wide range of rack and pinion mechanisms that don't necessarily have to follow a fixed width between the tie rod ball joints. The biggest advantage of this multi-link system is the ability to alter the bump steer and Ackermann angle (both contribute to the desired amount of oversteer or understeer) by simply replacing the custom made linkage members with new ones, thus keeping the A-arms, uprights and rack and pinion intact. So far, we have achieved a maximum bump steer of the front wheels of 0,26 degrees, which only happens if both front coil-overs are fully extended. In normal driving conditions, at about 50% coil-over compression/extension, the bump steer will be approximately from 0 to 0,14 degrees.

The front and rear uprights were slightly redesigned and now feature 1-degree wheel inclination in neutral position by default. The upper wall of the tyres remain in same width as before, but after the inclination the lower wall is shifted by 8 mm outwards, resulting in a widened front and rear track by 16 mm each. The simulated suspension geometry from the attached images uses 0-degree wheel inclination by purpose, because that helps to better understand where changes are required to improve the overall performance.

The first sets of custom made high misalignment spacers used in the FLT suspension were delivered today and they look just spectacular. They are CNC-cut from stainless steel grade SAE 316 and each car uses 36 numbers of them. I uploaded some photos of them in the following gallery:

Simultaneously in the making are the interior, door hinges, door metal frames, door inner panel, so there will be plenty of updates in the coming future.
