Here's my heater update that I had skipped. So now I have two posts back to back, so look up one (last one back a page from here) if you missed the marker light one.

Thanks,
Coop

Finished up the marker light install. Cool pics with doors up. Ok. I cheated. There are jack stands holding them up. Wink

I now have my passenger door latch installed. I made a lengthy video explaining the latch install and the plan for how to assemble the rest of the components inside the door.

Thanks,
Coop

Thanks. Smile
I'm thinking I will do the same thing pointing it back the other way when it comes time to figure out how to set the strut that holds the door open. Same deal as the latch and the door swinging through the path of the line. If I can strike a line that works throughout the lifting and sitting of the door and the line is straight the whole time, through the whole motion... I would think that would make the least amount of deflection possible. And when I say that I mean the line doesn't move left or right on the door as the door is swinging through the vertical line. Then that would be as straight as I could get it... I would think.

Thanks,
Coop

Hey y'all, Adrian came by today! Laughing

Here's what happened when I tried to give him a ride in the Diablo.... sigh. Too much screwing around again. Smile But it is getting there.

I just remembered this update to the blog post about the door latch. I had a few stills in there that I had left out. Adding them now.

Hiya, keep up the good works! Just a tip, don't use those cheap china solenoids you see on ebay, They don't work right and won't last at all!! Barely good for a gas door or trunk opening

Use new OEM Fiero or GM solenoids for your door locks, they will last and wont give you any problems.

I hope other upcoming builders will take advise to this.

Thanks for that Sam. Yeah I had not looked into those but once and figured they couldn't be all that great at that price. Luckily my son works at a parts house and gets a good discount so he'll be hooking me up on those I'm sure. I still have some from my 95TA that I kept parts from for building this car too.

My doors will be smooth outside with poppers, no door handles or locks in these. I am considering RFID to be present to start the car like the new fobs works. We'll see.

I've got a new update I'm posting now for working on the doors some more.

Thanks,
Coop

I've finally got my front suspension all torqued down. Yes. The videos you've seen of me driving it around before now had some bolts with nuts and some were just bolts. Smile Like the top of the shock was just pinned (and yes there is a ton of friction there) and I wasn't doing any highway driving so I wasn't worried about it. The few passes I have videos of are about all of the ones I've ever done. I think I only have one drive without it being video'd.

But I'm so glad that this is finally done. Was a real bear trying to find all the right metric hardware to put my stuff together with. 3 out of 4 (as it turns out) of my bottom A-arm bolts are M12x1.75x90mm long. One of them was a 1/2-13x4! Whatever. It's all smooth and as it should be now. I have some extra 1/2-13x4 bolts and nylon lock nuts lying about now. I guess I'll take them back tot eh store and get my money back. Don't think I'll be needing them in the rest of the build.

But the big deal (drum roll please) is that I can now get an alignment. YAY! Smile I've been looking forward to that day for some time now. My crap toe job and non-center steering wheel days are about to be over (until it needs another alignment). hee hee

I've got a guy I've used for my regular cars, he does a bang up job and has a nice laser setup. I'll be talking to them first about the settings. I have the Diablo manual that has been floating around out here forever and will see what he thinks about mostly following that. I don't know that every number will be the same or not. As these things (even though mine is coil over) are not the same as factory. Plus it has to look right in the wheel arch. Smile I noticed when screwing around with my caster and camber that it can move the wheel to the point that it interferes with the body.

Anyhow, thought I would share. I'm also posting this to my build dairy, so no link, as it is the same info.

Thanks,
Coop

Couldn't wait, as soon as I could drive it since I've been home... I did. Quick little video of it. I'll be driving it more now so there will be more videos of it on the road as I work out more of the computer control of the FI.
