Where is the location for the speedo sensor? I am working with the VDO gauge and need ideas on how to get a sensor installed.
Thanks,

My 915 gearbox has two wires coming out of it. I was told that they are for the speedometer. I sure hope that is correct...lol, otherwise, I have the same question.

Don,
These wires could also be for reverse switch. Put your gear in reverse and check for continuity on the wires.

Good idea. I'll be back to the car a week from Monday and can check it at that time. Thanks for the tip.

| Here's what I learned. The tranny I have has a huge billeted side plate. My Porsche 915 gear box does not have a sensor. Does anyone know the parts for using the ABS sensor on the NAERC Roadster as a speedo sensor? |

I used a corvette wheel bearing with the built in ABS sensor. I set my speedo head to 64930 pulses per mile.
If you just go straight from the rear wheel bearing you should be in the ball park.
MAKE SURE, these two wires are twisted together for the full length. |

Do you have any pics, part #, or general year of corvette ABS? Thanks for the info and lately I've had a burst of time to work on the car. It's amazing how few there are out there.
Thanks for all the help,

Jim,
Is there any difference when using from front's or rear's ABS sensor?

I don't know for sure. I used the Corvette front wheel bearings and GM S10 bearings on the rear. I assume they would be close.
The great thing is the VDO speedo heads are simple to setup. |

As I recall you placed yours on the front wheel location. Do you remember the model year of the corvette ABS sensor? Do you have any pics of it at all?
Thanks PB |
