I ordered three vents from Jason this week. He thought the O.D. was about 3 inches on them. I know Tim would know this based on the very nice video's he makes. Could someone please give me the exact O.D on them so I can start making the box for the top of the fan box. Also what have you guys been using for the piping. I found some 3" vent material on a job site that might work. It's actually insulated piping from bath and laudry fans. If you pull the insulation off its a very thin flexible piping. Any suggestions from the experts.

I have seen a lot of people use hose and fittings from shop vac parts that you can get at home depot.

i used a sump pump hose kit from ace hdw. it is about 2" dia
the larger size hose than this i found difficult to route for my
situation. i also have two defrost vents. the vent adapters neck down to
a smaller dia. so i had to use adapters. i used pvc pipe cut down to size to
fit. also the angle of the vent inlets (45 deg. or so ) did not allow for proper cllearance. had to cut these and use a plastic welder to reshape them.

This is what I used. Not EXACTLY the same but very close and made in the same factory as the real one.
